Surrounding local area

Church Farm Lodge is within easy walking distance of the High Street in Aldeburgh and its amenities, including a number of pubs and restaurants as well as grocery shops making it possible to have a car free stay. The beach is just beyond the High Street with large expanses of shingle and views south towards Orfordness and north towards Thorpeness.

Besides the lure of the beach and sailing opportunities in Aldeburgh there are opportunities for walking and cycling. For a special experience head to Hollesley and Poplar Park for a horse back ride around the heaths and forest, part of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Snape Maltings is a short drive from Aldeburgh but for the more adventurous you can walk the Sailors path along the River Alde to the village. The Maltings hosts a wide range of events and concerts throughout the year with the highlights being the Festival in June and the Proms in August. There are a number of significant historical attractions in the area including Orford and Framlingham Castles and Sutton Hoo, the Saxon burial ground.

Guest reviews

Even better than home from home!
We absolutely loved Church Farm Lodge, so beautifully designed and furnished and equipped. Have to also add, bed most comfortable ever slept in! Going in cold January, it was incredibly cosy and warm. Under floor heating a real bonus. Wet room ideal for slightly disabled husband and brilliant shower.
Hob took a little getting used to, but lesson from kind Kate, who called especially - made it seem easy after that.
Cleaners came in mid stay, as were there 2 weeks, and made a superb job of it all, and immaculate on our arrival.
We had wonderful care from Caroline, Kate and Pille (alphabetically!) who are so friendly and so efficient and we are already happily recommending Suffolk Hideaways.
Property is superbly situated, able to park car outside, just tucked away by Surgery, and only minutes to supermarkets or into main High Street. We did find everyone extremely friendly and look forward to returning before long.

So nice to blow away the cobwebs and top up the batteries in this delightful property. Nicely laid out, light, airy and very tastefully furnished to a high standard. The 'Achilles heel' - height restriction in the main bedroom! Lovely walks by the sea, Southwold worth a visit, oh and try the fresh fish.

Sweet little property, beautifully presented. Great location. Height restriction a problem in main bedroom if you are 6ft 4i! Otherwise a lovely property.
