Surrounding local area

Aldeburgh and the surrounding countryside has so much to offer. It you are interested in walking you can head straight out from Number 22 along the beach towards Thorpeness, or head in land along the Alde estuary following the Sailor's Path to Snape. Snape is the home of the world famous concert hall within the maltings and there are numerous events taking place throughout the year. Further afield RSPB Minsmere has some stunning walks taking in the heaths which form part of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Aldeburgh has a vibrant High Street with a number of independent shops. There are some fantastic cafes and restaurants. Two Magpies bakery has delicious treats, the cheese scones are particularly good and if you fancy an evening out The Lighthouse serves locally produced food with lots of fresh fish on the menu. However, it is pretty hard to beat fish and chips especially when eaten on the beach.
Heading back to Number 22, you will find a cosy place to relax and enjoy some solitude, whether it's sitting in the sun filled courtyard or in front of the wood burning stove with a hot drink.
