The Old Rectory is situated in beautiful countryside between Heveningham and Ubbeston. There are lots of walking opportunities from the house or further afield within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you fancy seeing the countryside by bicycle Suffolk Cycle Hire can help. There are a number of national and regional cycle routes in the area and quiet roads to allow you to explore in peace.

There are some great pubs and restaurants close to The Old Rectory. The White Horse in Sibton is an award winning pub or you can try The King's Head in Laxfield, a community owned venture. The Cafe at Darsham Nurseries also serves delicious food. If you fancy some tasty treats for a picnic try Emmetts in Peasenhall. Alternatively, if you have a special celebration we can arrange for a caterer to come and cook for you.

This part of Suffolk has a number of interesting places to visit. Framlingham and Orford are dominated by their castles and there are other historic sites to visit such as Sutton Hoo, the Saxon burial ground. The coast has some stunning beaches. If you are looking for a quieter spot, the beaches at Thorpeness and Dunwich fit the bill. Or head to the coastal towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh for a slightly busier pace of life with lots of independent shops along with cafes and restaurants.
