Surrounding local area

Hadliegh has a host of things to see and do without the need for a car. The town is designated as one of the wool towns which made their wealth from the wool trade during the period between the 15th and 17th century. Hadleigh boasts over 250 listed buildings including the mediaeval Guild Hall next door to the Church and Deanery Tower. There are guided tours of the town and buildings so that you can explore more of the history of the local area. There are numerous independent shops, restaurants, cafes and delis to treat yourself during your stay. If you fancy a special meal head to the Bildeston Crown, a short drive from Hadleigh which serves delicious food from local producers.
If you are looking for adventures for younger guests there are some interesting places to visit nearby. The Museum of East Anglian Life provides a glimpse of life as an agricultural region and the social history relating to it.
You can step further back in time at Kentwell Hall discovering what life was like on a Tudor estate or head to Hollow Trees Farm in Semer to meet the animals on the farm trail.
The area has some beautiful countryside to explore. Wolves Wood is one of 7 ancient woodland areas in Suffolk and boasts a wide range of birds to see while exploring the woodland.
Further afield Dedham Vale is part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The countryside associated with the area helped to inspire a number of world renowned painters including Constable, Gainsborough and Munnings. Flatford Mill and the Munnings Museum are worth a visit.
