Property details

This very spacious, luxurious self catering holiday accommodation, within a self-contained wing of a Tudor Hall, is a perfect place to take a break.

The property has retained many of its original features including the exposed beams, some wood panelling and a beautiful inglenook fireplace. There is a conservatory (currently closed for renovation) which opens up onto a charming garden where you can sit and relax on the patio, enjoying a glass of wine while the sun is shining or make use of the outdoor swimming pool which is available through the summer months.

Witnesham Hall lies in an idyllic rural setting at the end of a no-through-lane on the edge of the village, 10 miles west of the attractive market town of Woodbridge. You can amble across the fields to the nearest pub, the Barley Mow, which will only take 15 minutes. Woodbridge offers many historical landmarks including The Tide Mill and Sutton Hoo, or enjoy one of the many riverside walks while feeding the ducks. Maybe indulge in some delicious food at one of the lovely eateries including the Wild Strawberry Café or Whistle Stop Café.?

Guest reviews

Fantastic cottage, in a great location. Billy is a great host and provided everything we needed. Swimming pool and tennis court free to use, and the cottage is very well catered.

An interesting stay in a very old house and interesting part of the country. The owner could not have been more helpful

An amazing opportunity to experience life in a sixteenth century estate. Very secluded and very bucolic. Loved the quiet, small town nature and the people we met who live here. House has some quirks, but the accommodation is large and the kitchen is fully equipped. Take groceries with you, as there is no nearby grocery store. Owner had a wonderful gift basket waiting for us, but you will need more supplies for the three day minimum stay. We would go back again!!
