Greene King Brewery is the ultimate day out for lovers of quality cask ales and hosts a popular brewery tour and beer café that are definitely worth a visit!

Greene King Brewery has been operating since 1799 and hosts a number of tours, allowing visitors to delve into its history while walking through the brewery, discovering its oldest buildings and finding out what they have been used for throughout time. The knowledgeable guides will also tell you everything you need to know about Greene King and how their beers are made.

Each tour takes around an hour and forty minutes and finishes with a climb of over 100 steps to the roof. From here, you will be able to take in stunning views of Bury St Edmunds.

Enjoy the Beer Café

The Beer Café is definitely worth stopping by. Open Tuesday to Thursday from 10 am to 4pm and Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm, the Beer Café is the ultimate setting to become acquainted with the brewery’s many beers. You will be able to discover your favourites, browse the shop and tuck into some delicious seasonal food.

What a virtual tour

At the beer café, you can watch a virtual tour of the brewery and even enjoy a tutored tasting of our beers that are brewed at the brewery! As part of this experience, you can also taste two chutneys, a marmalade and a mustard, all made using the brewery’s delicious beers by local firm Scarlett and Mustard.
