Things to do in Suffolk: Helmingham Hall Gardens and Tea Rooms

Helmingham Hall boasts exceptional gardens:

19th-Century box parterre, edged with a spring border, an Elizabethan kitchen garden and double cruciform herbaceous border all surrounded by a Saxon moat. New herb and rose gardens contain plants contemporary with the house, which has been in the same ownership for 500 years. The surrounding parkland is home to deer, Soay sheep and 900-year old oaks. The captivating gardens and Coach House tea rooms draw a wide variety of visitors including groups, clubs and gardening associations from all over the world. The plant associations and colour combinations in all areas of the garden are in immaculate taste, being both subtle yet alluring.

Open May - September and December.  Special events.
