Learn about the history of the theatre

Designed by architect William Edward Trent, Ipswich Regent Theatre first opened as a cine-variety hall. Boasting an impressive neo-Georgian façade with painted stone walls, the elaborate, double-height auditorium features a balcony and boxes from which you can enjoy an incredible view of the stage and take in the historic building.
